Supper Club #1: The Dorian

When I left my job a few weeks ago, I told myself that I would embark on a new journey and try things that would make me a little uncomfortable. It was no easy task leaving what was a great creative job in fashion. 

But I wanted to try new things so it naturally came to me that I should host a dinner. I’ve always been meaning to host events but the daily grind of work made me tired and full of excuses not to.

Now that I had free time, naturally I wanted to bring all my amazing food loving friends together for what Nanette calls — a supper club.

So here is a toast to the first of my many supper club events. 

I hosted the first one at The Dorian, a cute tavern type brunch and dinner establishment with exceptional bespoke cocktails and yummy small bites and entrees. We had an assortment of dishes — raw oysters, pork belly lettuce wraps, truffle fries, perfectly crispy chicken sliders, and more. 

It was the most entertaining thing to watch a huddle of foodies and photographers swarming the food, doing moves that most people would side-eye (like climbing ontop of chairs and bringing food outside for a quick photo). Most people don’t know what it takes to get that insta-worthy egg yolk poke that food bloggers have perfected through multiple trial and errors or that perfect cocktail shot.
